Norco Revolver FS 7.2

Norco Revolver FS 7.2

The all-new 2016 Norco Revolver FS 7.2 is one of the most beautiful mountain bikes we have ever seen; smooth lines, clean internal cable routing, elegant carbon shock link and striking blue/black colour scheme. What's not to love about this Canadian company's carbon XC race weapon?

Bicycle Central on Mulgrave

Thanks to the new Team at Bicycle Central on Mulgrave, we're delighted to have one of these incredible bikes to ride (long-term) on our many adventures throughout FNQ and beyond.

Here's a quick overview of our medium-framed machine:

  • High-modulus carbon frame

  • Shimano XT 1x11sp drivetrain

  • Rockshox Sid RL fork / Rockshox Monarch RL shock

  • DT Swiss X1900 Spline wheelset

  • Schwalbe Racing Ralph 27.5x2.25 folding DC tyres

Out of the box, our medium bike weighed-in at 11.15kg (without pedals)

The only modification we've made so far is replacing the wheelset and tyres with:

American Classic Wide Lightning 27.5 wheels

  • 15mm Front @ 694g (claimed 698g)

  • 12x142mm Rear @ 818g (claimed 814g)

  • Tubeless valves @ 4g each

* Both wheels came with a tubeless rim strip installed, so actual weights would be well below claimed weights (discounting the weight of the rim strips).

Mitas tyres: (formerly Rubena)

  • Front: Kratos Textra 27.5x2.25 @ 704g (claimed weight 710g)

  • Rear: Scylla Textra 27.5x2.25 @ 606g (claimed weight 620g)

With the above changes, our complete bike weight dropped to a lean 10.83kg (including Crank Bros. Candy pedals and approximately 60g of Stan's sealant in each tyre). Impressive!
