Ride4MD is a great community cycling event supporting the essential work of Muscular Dystrophy Queensland and its 500+ clients.
What is Muscular Dystrophy? Muscular Dystrophy is a cruel genetic condition that gradually weakens the bodies muscles. Muscular Dystrophy is caused by missing or incorrect genetic information, preventing the body from making the proteins it needs to build and maintain muscles.
Sufferers of Muscular Dystrophy gradually lose their ability to do anything that requires muscle movement, including; walking, sitting upright, breathing, as well as use of their limbs, hands and feet. The muscle groups affected differ with each form of Muscular Dystrophy. There is currently no cure for Muscular Dystrophy, and treatment options are still limited.
Join Cairns local Chris Wiles as he leads the way, riding for his son Harper.
